CHEERLEADING
The 8th grade girls at St. Louis School make up our cheerleading squad each year. Practices begin in the summer and the cheerleaders participate in our home football games in the fall.
Baseball
& Softball
Baseball and softball teams are open to players in grades one through eight. The fifth through eighth graders participate in the Parochial Athletic Association (PAA) sponsored leagues and also the Middle School Coaches League. They play during the months of March, April, and early May. Practices begin in late February.
First and second graders play coach pitch and students participate in player pitch in grades three and four. These teams play in the Charlie Brown Lucy League. League play for this age group begins in mid-May and continues until the end of June. Practice for all first through fourth grade teams starts in early May.
BASKETBALL
St. Louis offers students in grades 1-8 the chance to participate on basketball teams. The students in 1st-4th grade play their season from mid-February through late spring in the PAA's Charlie Brown/Lucy League. League play for students in grades 5-8 begins in November and continues through mid-February.
FOOTBALL
Boys & Girls in grades 5-8 may participate on the football teams. Players must be students at St. Louis School or regular participants in St. Louis Church PRE. St. Louis has two football teams, the Pee Wee team is for students in 5th and 6th grades, while the junior team consists of players in grades 7 and 8. Practices begin end of July and the Season runs thru the end of October.
Soccer
Students in grades 1-8 are eligible to play soccer at St. Louis. The season practices begin in early August. League games are played on Saturdays and Sundays from September through the first weekend of November. The 7/8th grade girls’ team plays in the Shelby 7/8 league and plays on the weekdays from late August through the first week of October. All other teams are members of the PAA.
FLAG FOOTBALL
St. Louis sponsors flag football teams for both boys and girls in grades 1-4. The season runs from mid-August until late October. They participate in the Parochial Athletic Association.
TENNIS
Tennis is offered to students in grades 5-8. The St. Louis boys’ and girls’ tennis teams participate in the Shelby 78 league which is an intermediate to advanced level league. Practices begin in late February. Match play is from March through April with a championship tournament in late April. St. Louis uses Wolbrecht Tennis Center as our home court.
Cross Country
TRACK & FIELD
Volleyball
St. Louis sponsors volleyball teams for girls in grades 5-8. Participants must be students at St. Louis or regular participants in the St. Louis Church PRE program. Practices begin in early to mid-August with matches being played from September through late October. Teams participate in the PAA and the Shelby League. They play matches both during the week and on the weekend.
GOLF
St. Louis sponsors boys’ and girls’ golf teams in the PAA league. Golfers must be in the 5th through 8th grade. The golf season is played during the months of September and October.
MICRO SPORTS
The micro sports program is offered for students in preschool and kindergarten, students must be four years old by September 1 of the year in which they are playing in the program. St. Louis offers soccer, basketball, and t-ball in our micro sports league.
